If we want better government then start with asking what better government looks like and what changes are needed. Not merely in headline terms but right down to the details.
I largely agree. However, I think there is a difference between late-80's Thatcherism and today's private management.
Thatcher unleashed the City which funded a huge piece of the tax take until Brown (him again) and various EU directives regulated the money out of it and caused 2008.
The other was the massive tax income from the "North Sea" oil and gas.
The similarities are the general uselessness of the private managerial class (as useless as it's public counterpart). I'm sure there are entrepreneurs out there ready to seize the opportunity. But it has been the rent seekers, yes Dale Vince you, who have learnt to succeed over the last 15 years.
