Our age of abundance is over, not because we are running out of anything but because our government has decided to make it that way. And, worse, the state is going to tell you it is your fault.
At some point, the mood will inevitably turn against this, but you have to wonder how much damage and chaos will have been unleashed by the time it happens. Unfortunately, most people still seem to believe, or at least want to believe, that it’s still 2004. Maybe the inevitable chaos or inertia of a new Labour government will wake some up, but it’s likely we won’t see any change until the people who make the decisions and run everything behind the scenes are thrown out.
If we see ourselves as the problem then there comes a point where we need to check ourselves out. It does feel as if we have a rather bleak future as resources are run down, as our expectations were getting used to a certain level of peace and prosperity.

If people keep voting for the Leopards Eating People's Faces party, eventually their faces will get eaten.
Energy insecurity for the right kind of "citizen". Same thing you get in certain US states.
